Florence rescued as a 3-month old from death

Born in India where people discard newborn girls. Mainly because girls are an inferior commodity in the marriage market. Florence’s story is much like many girls in our orphanage. Her family wanted to kill her when she was three months old. She was rescued by a family member and brought to our Love and Care home.

Young Florence grew up under the care and protection of Dr. John Arul. He named her and cared for her like his own from the moment she was brought to our home. From a young age, she learned about the love of Christ through Dr. Arul. He was her earthly father. She received Jesus Christ as her savior and got baptized. She is now 21 years old. She loves being involved in ministries and she enjoys singing in the church choir.

As arranged marriage is the custom in India, Few weeks before Dr. John Arul’s unexpected death, he found a suitable groom for her to marry and conducted their betrothal ceremony. It was a short but beautiful ceremony in which the couple solemnly pledged to marry one another on a specified date.

The couple had to postpone the wedding to this year due to Dr. Arul’s passing last July but they are now ready and eager to start a new life together.

As the bride’s family, we are expected to pay for all the cost of her wedding. We need about $2,000 for her wedding expenses and to support her financially as she starts her new life with her groom.

We are excited for her as she steps into this new season of her life. We are looking forward to all that God has in store for her.
